Random Thought: #337 - “Ignoring Corrective Forces”
Why does the cost of government keep climbing? Because much of what government does runs counter to the Constitution and more importantly it runs against life and nature. For millions of years nature has made improvements by making stupid choices expensive. Nature puts a price tag on every decision, from eating those red juicy berries next to the dead bear, to poking a rattlesnake with your finger. There’s a cost benefit analysis that every intelligent creature has to consider before making its next move.
Humans are uniquely equipped to make complex decisions that involve long term outcomes because, unlike any animal on the planet, we can reason and have access to centuries of accumulated data and wisdom. So why does government waste so much time, money and effort preventing people from exercising and improving the decision making part of their brain?
Much of our massive Entitlement Spending is dedicated to protecting people from, what I call L.C.F. (Life’s Corrective Forces) L.C.F. usually kicks in to make bad decisions as uncomfortable and unprofitable as possible. The good thing about L.C.F. is it usually isolates the harm aka “lesson”, to the individual. This allows the individual to learn from direct experience, or allows others to learn and benefit from his absence from the gene pool.
Government, unlike L.C.F., spreads the harm of poor decision making across all of society. The individual never learns from his mistakes, because the results are moved as far away from him as possible. So more people make bad decisions because government breaks the natural relationship between pain and poor choices, and the cost of government goes up and up.
But L.C.F. is a force of nature and l don’t believe it can be held back forever. By government not allowing it to do its work on an individual level, means it will eventually make its corrections on a societal one. Our looming multi-trillion dollar debt is an unsustainable dam the government placed between L.C.F. and us. It won’t hold. We need to return to letting corrections be made as close to the source as possible or else.
The "government" is an establishment of oligarchs that has become corrupted with power. In our time, President Trump was the closest to countering this evil machine. The curtain has been drawn back. As a society, we get closer all the time to becoming unsustainable as long as the corrupt ruling class wears blinders to not see the damage the are doing. The rich and powerful are getting richer and acquiring more power.
The pandemic showed us all how they will take power unilaterally. We are literally clawing back the right not to take a vaccine and cover our faces. Unless there is a red wave in November, I will not trust the integrity of our elections. They cheated once.
"never learns from his mistakes" You're kidding right? They aren't mistakes if they get rewarded!
